Day 32 – Rebecca Takes Flight!

Guest blog…by Mark E.
I was able to see Rebecca, Randy and Anne off this morning and wanted to report to you all that everything went perfectly. Randy and I arrived early to “inspect” the jet and Rebecca and Anne arrived by ambulance. The Medevac guys transferred a smiling Rebecca to the tarmac and strapped her to a smaller gurney and 1-2-3 they had her in the jet.

They boarded the jet at approximately 9:30 and are currently enroute to Salt Lake City. Rebecca will be transported via ambulance to the Huntsman Cancer Center immediately upon their arrival around 12:30

MST.

Rebecca was happy, alert and just a tad nervous. The pilots, and other Medevac

personnel doted on her just like she was their own daughter and it was heart-warming to witness.

Their boys are in good hands for the next few days and will join the rest of the family in SLC on Saturday.

Day 31 – PM

Our prayers have been answered! We have an air ambulance scheduled tomorrow morning. It is a pressurized cabin with a nurse. Flight time will be less than three hours. Anne and I will travel with Becca to SLC non-stop. We will then go to the Huntsman Cancer center in Salt Lake City.

The boys will stay overnight with some close friends and I will return the next day to get them.

We are just overwhelmed by the response for help and I pray that you all receive an abundance of blessings. May the Lord bless you all. I will post more and keep you all on our journey.

Day 31 – AM

Becca isn’t felling well again this morning. They are working with her meds again. They were trying to get her on an all oral teatment but her poor tummy doesn’t like it.

As for the flights, for now if I haven’t spoke with you, I think we have enough leads right now, but stay tuned if they don’t work out. I feel like one of these will.

Thanks again for the prayers 🙂

Day 30 – Evening

It’s amazing the people we have met through this, and we have met some of them in the most unlikely places. It’s also amazing that people we have never met are praying with us through this. For that I am forever grateful. I pray that the Lord blesses each one of you as he as us.

Becca had a rough day today. They have tried to administer medication orally, but her stomach has not agreed with her. She has thrown up a lot today. It’s also been difficult knowing that we just cleared a month in the hospital. Becca is a fighter and has tried to keep up her upper lip.

So where are we with the flights? Well, we found one (thank you all so much) but would you guess we can’t go because of weather? The plane isn’t pressurized and can’t fly above storms. So we are on hold for now until Thursday or until the weather changes. We also have a lead on a bigger plane that is pressurized, but we are still in the initial conversation phase. For now, the plan is continue with therapy to get her stronger.

Day 30 – Morning

So, Becca is doing well this Morning. She is in another Cat scan of her lower back. We have contacted Corp angel flight but they don’t show any planes going that way for the next two weeks. However, we have two leads we are trying to work out and should know by today! The Lord has heard our prayers, keep it up 🙂
