Day 228

Becca is doing well the last few days. She hasn’t been throwing up, but she has been feeling a lot of bone pain. They give her shots to boost her production of bone marrow, which causes the pain. She is on some medication to ‘take care of the pain,’ so she’s a little out of it right now.

Hang in there with us, more details to come.

Day 225

The last couple of days have actually been very good. Becca had mentioned that she kept getting really sick after the two day chemo to the pharmacist. She told Becca that she would take care of it and add a little extra to her mix. Well, it worked! There has been very little nausea and she has been able to eat. So we have been able to spend quality time as a family this weekend.

With the good news, comes the bad. As always, there was a bit of confusion with the doctors. It appears that she still has 5 chemo’s left. We were told she skipped a cycle, but we were informed yesterday that you can’t just skip a cycle. We think the Doctor was just confused on what week she was on. So, we have a few more left, but I’m positive we will get over the ‘four more’ hump. It seems like I have been saying that for a month now! Becca is really ok with it and it’s according to the schedule we received at the beginning. She is just keeping her ‘eye on the prize’ and trying to keep it positive. I’m just impressed by her will power. Becca is by far the strongest person I have ever met.

Please keep her in your prayers. She has one last surgery at the end, which we pray will be a ‘walk in the park.’ We love you all. Keep the faith.

Day 222

Becca was able to come home on Sunday evening from her last chemo. She wasn’t feeling too well, but managed to stay out of the hospital. Becca did go back in yesterday for her next round, which is a two day chemo. We are hoping she will be released today, but this is the one that makes her sick for a week afterwards. Becca asked for a little more anti-nausea medication, so hopefully that will help her.

The good news is she will have a couple of weeks off after this round. They need her to get stronger for the last few chemo’s. After that, she just has the surgery. We are getting closer to the end and it sure helps keep up the good attitude!

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. Please continue to pray. And as it says in Mark 5:36 “Be not afraid, only Believe.” We believe.

Day 218

Becca is doing well. She was almost allowed to come home yesterday, which would have been a record. She should come home today. The chemo went well and she feels pretty good. Hopefully we can spend the day as a family and enjoy just being together.

The boys are well and doing good in school. Please continue to pray for us, we love you all.

Day 214

Happy Valentines Day!

Becca had a good few days since her blood infusion. It’s amazing how much the body needs a little oxygen to have energy. She will be going in for her chemo today, which will last a few days. It’s the methotrexate, which is a one day chemo, but she can’t leave until her levels are low enough. This takes her a couple of days.

All in all she is doing well and doing a lot with the boys. She is also starting to scrapbook again, which she loves. It’s nice to see her able to get back into the swing of things.

Please continue to pray for her, not only that this is a ‘quick’ chemo trip, but that the tumor will continue to shrink. This marathon is entering into the final leg…. we almost have it won!
