Day 176

Well, we had a little setback. Yesterday Becca woke up with a fever of 103. So we had to take her to the emergency room since she basically has no white blood cells. They call that being neutropenic. So, they kept her in ER for most of the day and moved her up to the Huntsman Cancer center. Becca is still here and will be her for at least another day. It’s frustrating, but I can only assume they just don’t want to run the risk of her getting spinal meningitis again. So, they are most likely going to postpone her chemo for this week.

The good news is her fever broke last night and she is doing well. They are still giving her antibiotics, but we are hopeful she will be able to leave in the next day or so.

We are SO grateful for all the prayer and thoughts. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. I know that our Father in Heaven loves us and He is with us all the way. Keep the faith, it’s shrinking!

Day 173

Not much has changed in the last few days. Becca is still a little sick, which isn’t all that fun for her… go figure. But she is doing her best to overcome the sickness, stay on top of her medication, and continue to spend time together as a family.

Please keep with us and continue praying. I know this chemo was a LOT worse last time and I know the prayers are working.

We love you all.

Day 170

Happy New Year!

I wanted to make sure everyone received our card one way or another 😉

We had a good new years eve and are enjoying the day as a family. Becca is a little nauseated, but doing well. She won’t have to go back in for chemo until next Friday, which is truly a blessing. We love you all and pray you all have a great holiday. Keep up the prayers!

Day 166

We had a great Christmas this year. Given everything that is going on, we were able to put those things behind us for a small moment and focus on the boys and the spirit of Christmas, our Savior. A lot of the family was able to come together and share with each other.

We had another visit from another special family from Texas. It was great to again see familiar faces and catch up. Becca is missing home, but is making the best of her stay here. It’s nice that we can have a little of both worlds at the same time. It was hard to see them go, but we only have a few more weeks to go! Ok, 10 or so but that seems so close now 🙂

Becca had the opportunity to help donate hats and scarves on behalf of Southwest to the Huntsman Cancer center here. They were very grateful for the donation as many that come through don’t have one. It’s always nice to see people wearing them right away and spot them in the hall 🙂

Becca is in for another round, we came in yesterday. The good news is we should leave today already as it’s a short chemo. The other good news is she is doing well and feeling really good.

We are SO blessed to have so many who care about us. This has been a very difficult road to go down, but I know that we are not doing this alone. Not only do we have so many praying for us, but I know that our Father in Heaven is here helping us every step of the way. It has been a bumpy road with a lot of emotions, but I know we will all be stronger for being close by her side. Please continue to pray for her, not only the physical, but her spiritual well being as well. We can always use a boost in that area 🙂

The Lord love us all. I hope that this season we all take a moment and try to be a positive influence in someone’s life. Please keep the faith, she will be healed!

Day 161

Santa made an early visit to our boys today. Very unexpectedly, Santa appeared on our door step tonight with gifts for our family. The boys had a gleam in their eye as Santa wanted to make sure they knew that they were here in Utah this year. He told them that he would be back tomorrow night, but wanted them to remember he was checking his list…

Tears filled our eyes. You can’t imagine the joy that we feel. We can’t express enough the love, but the sense of generosity and compassion. I know that we are loved, but this is very humbling. I know there are many others out there that are doing the same thing for others and I pray that the Lord blesses each of you. It’s very difficult to be on the receiving end, but I now know how it feels to be blessed by so many who care. From a simple card, e-mail, phone call, blog, note, gift, or prayer, your love is felt. Please continue to give to those who need. It works, it really works.

We love you all.
