Day 283

Becca is doing well today. She is still receiving IV fluids twice a day to help keep her kidney’s working. We just keep praying she can get through the next 3 chemo’s without incident 🙂 Becca will go back in on Friday for her next Methotrexate chemo.

The boys are doing well. Ricky is out of school on a break. Michael is still enjoying playing with his cousins and neighbors. Cameron is just being himself 🙂 He is starting to walk now, so it’s only a matter of time before he is into everything! But you have to love him.

I just want to give a personal thanks to all of you that have stayed with us. I was able to meet with several of you this weekend and it meant a lot to hear all the kind words you have for our family. Know that we appreciate the help and rely on your strength, prayers, and relationships to help us get through these difficult times. Please continue to pray for Becca. We love you.

Day 280

Just a quick update. Unfortunately, Becca went in for her after chemo blood test and they had to keep her. Her kidneys are not doing well. She looked incredibly sick and they want to keep her to get some fluids in her. She will be alright and we are thankful we brought her in for the follow up. Hopefully she will only be in there for a couple of days, she goes back on Friday for her Methotrexate.

Becca wanted me to thank everyone again for keeping up with her. We are all so thankful for the prayers, warm thoughts, and feelings. We can’t do this without you. Love you all.

Day 278

Becca should be getting out sometime today… yeah! She did fairly well with this round, we just pray her kidneys hold up. They are getting weaker by the chemo, but the good news is she only has three more 🙂

All in all she is doing well and will have a week to recover. They are going to tone down the next three chemo’s in order for her to handle them. They need to kill the cancer, but don’t want to hurt her anymore than they have to. In my novice understanding, that sound great to me!

We are trying to be patient and we can see the end of the road. We are all amazed at her strength to keep going. It’s heartwarming to receive all the phone calls and letters. It really picks her up and keeps her in a great mood. Please continue to pray for her. We love you all!

Day 274

I can’t believe another week has almost slipped by. Becca had a GREAT week and was feeling well. It’s amazing what two pints of blood will do for the body 🙂

Becca went in yesterday for her next round. After this, it will leave her with just 3. This one is a five day chemo, but she will come home after the five. It’s not like the last one where her chemo levels have to drop. She is doing well with it so far.

The boys are having fun and excited about Easter. Since Becca will be in the hospital, we will go up with them on Sunday to visit her. We plan on doing an Easter egg hunt in her room, as well as here at my in-laws home. I think the biggest reason they are excited is all the candy. I do however want to help them understand the real meaning of Easter, which is the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through his sacrifice, I know that each of us will be resurrected some day. I know that he lives! Here is a link to a good article on the meaning of Easter.

Spring is such a beautiful time of year. Thank you all for your continued support and kind words. We are almost through this… keep the Faith and prayers!

Day 268

This weekend was really good. Not only was Becca feeling well, we were able to watch all of the World wide General Conference here in Salt Lake City. It was nice to spend it as a family. It’s amazing how much you miss the little things, but it’s great when you have a few of those moments. I know that soon this will be all over and we will be able to draw from this experience for a long time. I know we don’t understand everything now, but I know that we have been blessed and had many opportunities to share it with many people.

Becca has four more chemo’s left, and is scheduled to go back in on Friday. The light is starting to get brighter at the end of the tunnel…..

I just wanted to leave you with one quote that made an impression on me from the Priesthood session of Conference. It’s talking about missionary work and the ministering of angels. It says in Doctrine & Covenants 84:88 ‘And whoso areceiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go bbefore your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my cSpirit shall be in your hearts, and mine dangels round about you, to bear you up.’ I know that Becca has been protected and surrounded by angles.

Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray that the tumor will dissolve. We love you all.
