Day 128

Becca made it back to her mom’s home! I finally broke her out of there and was able to spend time with the boys. The CDC wanted her to spend every minute of the two weeks there just to make sure… I can’t blame them 🙂

Becca is doing well and seems to have a lot of her strength back. The first thing she did was pick up Cameron off the floor. She wanted to make sure she hadn’t gone back too far. The boys and the family were happy to see her in the home again.

Alas, Friday she will go back for her next chemo trip. They don’t want to wait too long since she missed one of them and they want to get her back on track. All in all she is smiling and ready to spend Thanksgiving as a family again.

Keep up the prayers and keep the faith!

Day 125

Becca is doing REALLY well today, with only slight pain. She seems like she is back to her old self and able to think correctly. She is walking around again and eating well. We feel that they will release her on Monday as that is day 14 of the antibiotics.

I can’t help but thank all of those that have been praying so hard for her. I know that it is through faith and prayer that we are making it so well. The boys are doing awesome, while still missing home. I know that we won’t be home for Thanksgiving, but I know we have a LOT to be thankful for.

We love you all.

Day 121

Well, we met with the CDC today… good news/bad news. The good news is they know that she is getting better and the antibiotics are working. The bad news is they are going to keep her for another week. They were going to try and let her out now and have a home nurse keep giving the antibiotics, but she is getting too many of them and they don’t feel comfortable doing that at home.

So, the prayers are working. Becca is getting around the hospital room a little more and keeping food down, but for now she needs to rest 🙂

Keep the faith.

Day 120

It’s been a few days and I’m sure I’ve kept a few of you on pins and needles. To be candid, I have been as well. Becca’s fever finally broke late Friday and she has been able to keep a little food down. That is a lot of progress for her. That let’s us know that the antibiotics are working, but she still has a long road ahead. She is still getting food via an IV and on a ton of different medications. They never really have determined where she got this or what exact type of bacterial meningitis it was, but that’s ok by me. Becca walked today for a little bit in the hospital and she was able to see the boys (masks and sanitizer). We couldn’t touch her or allow the boys to give her a hug, but just having us there for a brief moment was good for her spirits. We should know more tomorrow, as the CDC (Center for Disease Control) should be in to let us know where we are at.

This by far has been the most difficult time for us. It’s hard for us to see her this sick and feel this helpless. I know that it’s through everyone’s prayers and faith that she is getting better. 40 weeks of chemo seems long now, but soon this will be another learning experience we can share with those we love. Please keep the faith. We love you all.

Day 116

Just a quick update on Rebecca’s status. She officially has bacterial meningitis, which is really serious. See the link above for more information.

The good news is she was in the hospital when this presented. They are working on giving her high doses of antibiotics and she should be just fine. They won’t do chemo this Friday, as she has not left the hospital since last Friday due to the meningitis. We aren’t sure how she got it, but regardless they found it early.

Please keep us in your prayers, she really needs the help right now. Becca is in a lot of pain, severe headache, fever, and nausea. We love you all.
